We draw "the genes of time" from the Majiayao culture: choosing easily accessible felt (a common daily material), we replicate the irregular contours and unrefined edges of ancient pottery shards, transforming the traces of time’s erosion into a soft fleece surface that gently supports the warmth of teacups and mugs. We transpose the spiral patterns, wavy lines, and dot motifs—each curve encapsulates the gaze of ancient ancestors as they watched the Yellow River meander and grasslands sway, condensed into a textured design that feels alive with breath. We revive the mineral-based color palette of Majiayao pottery: purplish-brown like clay, indigo like river bends, and grass-green like meadows, "moving" the original hues of the northwest Chinese landscape directly onto your tabletop. Furthermore, we contrast the softness of felt with the coarseness of ancient pottery; leveraging felt’s practical properties of water absorption and slip resistance, we free ancient aesthetics from the confines of museum display cases. We believe cultural and creative products should never be expensive, niche luxuries—and this is why we use affordable materials and simple craftsmanship. When your fingertips glide over the pottery-inspired patterns on the felt, or when the base of a cup presses a faint pattern shadow, the 5,000-year-old past thus gently meets the ordinariness of your present day.
